I'm so sorry you are going through this, I've read that the cut off age is 5 if they haven't had a litter, apparently their pelvic bones don't spread so easily after that. I'm surprised the vet thought everything would be ok. I'm sure you'll get a lot of good advice, and I just want to wish you the best of luck with your decision.
