Welcome! I have a boy. He is a total wuss and loves to cuddle. I think he's a cinch to groom, but I keep him in a puppy cut. He's never humped anything as far as I know (he's neutered). He does like to mark, but honestly, it's CUTE!
I agree that temperment is probably the most important quality, regardless of sex. I think you might want to get a male since you already have a female dog....
Honestly, I think the biggest question is, are you going to want to dress your dog up in lacy dresses?
