The first 2 yorkies we had 1 of each. The female was for me and male for my husband. However that switched in only a matter of days. Today we have 3 females and 1 male, the females cuddle with my husband on one couch as my only male with me on the other couch..lol. But I agree with the person who said to get 1 of each..
