The dogs just need to learn that everything in the house belongs to YOU not them and if you crate one and not the other they will never learn this? How are they with toys do they fight over them? Do they show any other signs of dominance? If the answer is no is there a possibility that your pup has a UTI?
Dawn thank YOU for hanging with me on this question and for answering me.

OK they have only been with each other a little over a week now. They play alot, but I would call it fair play, with Mika (the bigger one), deferring to Maya in most cases.

The only time Mika snaps her up now is when she is trying to rest and Maya comes on her same pillow or something, but so far she has not hurt her.

My daughter asked this question yesterday about who I felt had dominance, and I really can't tell.

Mika won't really mind the crate. She always saw it as a haven, Maya on the other hand always hated it.

We'll try to work something out.

Thank you for YOUR input.
