i also agree with shaving their belly (almost up to their chin) ... i trim this way and it also keeps the pee from getting in their hair ... then you could try just brushing the side hair towards the rear end to keep it smooth and out of the way? this is what i do with bentley ... not because he marks, but because he cannot seem to get the hang of wee wee pad training
