This statement REALLY bothered me, so I did some research, and it appears that someone unlawfully x-rayed your dog in Austria. Not only is x-raying pets taboo in the U.S., but I e-mailed security at the Vienna Airport and got the response below. I just thought that if it happened to you, it could happen to someone else. You should know that in the U.S. and Austria, at least, live pets can't be x-rayed. If I were you, I would at least report the incident to the person who responded to me. You may not be able to prove it, but you might be able to put the heat on some horrible security agents.
Here's the e-mail I got back from Vienna:
Wimmer Manfred <M.Wimmer@viennaairport.com> to me
Dear Mike,
Thank you for your inquiry. Let me assure you that we do not x-ray live animals.
Yours sincerely,

I'm trying to get information on regulations regarding traveling with an animal through Vienna Airport, specifically your policy on X-raying dogs. Is that ever allowed by your security workers?
