I am sorry to hear about your baby passing so suddenly. I do know of one congenital disease that would cause this. My little guy Babybear turned quick one day and colasped to the floor. Was told it was a pinched nerve. Then 3 months later he jumped off my lap yelped and had a seizure and stopped breathing. If my husband did not give him mouth to mouth he would have died. He was misdiagnosed with his vet but I took him for a second opinion and found he had Atlantoaxial Instability. Check that out on Petplace.com. You will see that it can cause sudden death.
