Default 2 questions My dog had puppies!

Ok so my female yorkie hads puppies yesterday. I expected three puppies at the most. Because previous litters have been in the range of two and three. Well it turns out my mamma dog is really rough while whelping her pups. And she cuts the cords to short well actually pulls them completely out. I came home from work early yesterday to find she had already whelped five puppies in which she had ripped the cords of two of them. I immediately sat down with her and didnt leave her side until this morning. She had one more pup that I helped clean up. So we have six pups. The pups are doing really well and the pups with the hold in their bellys actaully made it through the night. Please tell me if anyt of you have experience with this. Im not sure if the vet could actaully sew the belly up or if its not even worth it. I told myself if they make it through the night and are eating I would take them to the vet. Things is they are not eating. I've tried to help them latch on since yesterday. Please help me on this.

2nd questions have you ever heard of giving a dog tums? One of my breeder friends said the vet told her to give her nursing dog tums to prevent preyclampsia. Please any info you guys could share would be wonderful and most appreciated.
