I happen to think that obedience training is essential for any dog no matter what it's size. My opinion about this has been reaffirmed lately by watching the Dog Whiperer televison show. It is a safety issue in my opinion and it is the best thing for the dog since they are pack animals by nature and need to have "BOSS" to bw happy and content in their role.

I have heard yorkie owners who are opposed to training their yorkies express numerous reasons for not finding it necessary like they like the fact that they 'rule the house" and are "in control". They are small so they cannot get into much trouble, they are too small to train, they are too stubborn, they are impossible to train, etc.

I wondered what the consensus was on here and what your individual thoughts are in this area.
