Mine has two different barks depending on what he wants or sees. He has this high pitched bark when the doorbell rings, hears anyone come through the front door, sees cats or birds in the back yard or he hears my DH in the garage working on his motorcycle (personally I think he just wants to hang out with my DH in the garage doing man stuff). Then he has this low sound woof bark he does when he wants someone to pick him up and put him on the couch (mind you he can jump up there but is sometimes lazy and thinks we should be at his beck and call), he does this at the back door when he needs to go out to potty, and does then when we are in the kitchen and he wants a treat. it amazes me that he communicates so well
