I got my first little one, Samson, because I was going through empty nest, my yongest daugher is 20 and oldest is 25. We are getting our second yorkie, Harley, next weekend. I think getting another one for the reasons you stated makes sense as that is pretty much why we are getting another one. I feel my little boy needs a paymate and companion, he is ALWAYS by my side (my little shadow), and I was use to having 3 kids around the house. It was hard to convience my DH to get the first one, it was way easier to talk him into the 2nd one, he has totally fallen in love with Samson and I think he likes the dog more than me sometimes
