Default Adjusting to a new family member.

Hello all, I am new to YT but I am loving it, I am so happy I found this website! I have always loved this breed and when my Mom bought her first Yorkie a couple of years ago I knew I had to have one for my own. So that is exactly what I did

My first Yorkie (his name is Shiloh), is about 2 years old and I have recently brought home a new baby sister for him (her name is Lorelei) and my little man is having a little trouble adjusting I'm afraid.

He has never been physically aggressive with her, but he growls at her when she gets too close to him and runs away from her! This behavior has me completely baffled as he has always gotten along with my Mom's pups. My mom's second Yorkie was purchased after Shiloh was about a year old and Shiloh was a little skittish around him at first but was well over it after just a few days.

He seems to be taking much longer to warm up to Lorelei, is this normal? Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to help ease the transition for my babies? I have made sure that I pay lots of attention to Shiloh so he doesn't feel out. They even have separate food and water bowls/toys/blankies etc so they don't have to compete. Please help! I really want my babies to get along and become friends.

Thanks so much in advance for all your help!
