I completely agree. Dogs are dogs and should be treated as such. I think that most of the problems dogs have develop as a result of being treated too 'human'. I used to let my ex-boyfriend's mother look after Cash on some weekends (she used to breed with yorkies), but he learned such terrible manners! I stopped taking him there when I saw them feeding him off their plates (almost out of their mouths) during a meal. It has taken me a year to teach him not to beg (I ask him very nicely if he wants to go out - not the same as ordering him to go out of the room, but the warning works very well).

Each to his own, definitely, but a dog should be treated as a dog.
