Their hair can get right ratty looking as they are growing up! Higgins has the cottony hair and he doesn't have a lot of it. He's silver on the top of his head now and silver is showing up on his back. His legs are a beautiful tan/red as is his mustache. But it is all changing. Gradually it is getting silker, but I don't think he'll ever have a really great coat, which is one reason I keep it short.
See what the new vet thinks, but I wouldn't panic unless there are big bare spots or a rash or something or it's coming out in big clumps. Yorkies don't really shed their hair, but when I brush Higgins, I usually get some fluff.....
