Yorkies are very smart and amazing dogs, mine doesn't shed, at least I haven't found any hair around. I have a small child and they are best friends. If your looking for a dog that you don't need to walk, perhaps a dog isn't even the right pet for you. Just because your interested in a " toy breed " doesn't mean they are a " toy ". Yorkies are small dogs and need everything a large dog may need also, and that includes WALKS, EXCERISE and time outside. You can train them to go potty on paper indoors but that doesn't mean they don't need to go outside either. Maybe not as much as a larger dog but they DO NEED to go for walks and regular excerise like any other type of dog.
