My 4 kids were 10 months/2yrs/7yrs/10yrs when we brought Mika home at only 8 weeks old! We have always had dogs since before my eldest was born, some big some smaller, but none as small as Mika. Although we breed staffs so they have been around newborn puppies too. Its very important to teach children respect in all areas of life and I believe that pets are great way of doing just that. I never give my children the opportunity to be too rough with the animals and I've never had an incident were either the children or the pets have hurt one another. Congrats on deciding to bring a new family member into your home!
