I have 4 they are 11,9,7 and 5. I got my toy poodle when my 5 year old was 3 and he did just fine. He needed supervision obviously when handling puppy but if taught correctly kids learn quickly how to handle pets. When Tucker joined us in Nov. they were old pro's
