As states are passing more laws raising kennel conditions, the AKC has more power to suspend breeders who break state laws. These breeders have to go somewhere and many are going to the alternative registries. Any breeder can list with the alternative registries, and you do not have to prove you had breeding rights, and you cannot refuse breeding rights to a new owner. This really is a bad situation. Here's some information about APRI:
Unless, you feel like there is some reason that you would like to support APRI, there is really no purpose for registering your dog with them. You are just supporting commercial breeders, also known as puppy mills. |
You are quite wrong. APRI is not one of the alternative registries, they are a great registry, just as good if not better then AKC.
AKC supports more puppy millls then all other registries combined and they are begging all breeders to come back because they are hurting for money. I heard tell a group of breeders last year that if they were not imbreeding that they were doing it all wrong. What kind of message is that?
Also, brokers pay more for an AKC puppy so puppy mills regular use AKC so they make more money.
There is no registry that makes one dog better then another. EVER!
