The best advice I ever received about raising teenagers...
Pick your battles carefully, and arrange it so you say "yes" much more often than you say "no".
Don't ever force a teenager to lie to you. Ask your questions in such a way as to promote truth. Instead of..."Did you brush your teeth yet?" Say, "Please remember to brush your teeth."
Those pieces of advice don't sound like much, but they have made a HUGE difference in my relationship with my children.
