I have not said a word about not learning about it - I've actually said to KEEP learning about it. But what I AM saying is that people NEED to stop playing the victim. If people come together as EQUALS then no one will feel like anyone deserves an apology for something we had no control over.
Those who cannot learn from history -- history! This is *history*. History is the *past*. the past is of *uber* importance, but it is not the *present*. This is not happening in the *present*. Blacks are not demanded to sit at the back of the bus, they aren't lynched, they don't have to walk through different doors and drink from different water fountains. That is TODAY'S world - the world we currently live in. There is no reason to make comments suggesting that that is still the world we live in. It is NOT, and the world we DO live in wants to STOP that. |
