Most of the time, dogs do not get sick from it, and those that do have milder symptoms than humans, and from what I have read, they do not die from it. The biggest factor in dogs exposed to salmonella is that they do pass it in their stools. So even though a dog on a raw food diet may not ever have symptoms, they can still shed the bacteria through their stools. So don't eat your dogs poop
