I know there are differnet strands of salmonella so is the one found in raw chicken ok for dogs? I have read somewhere that dogs cannot get salmonella. Im sure this is not true though now.

Most of the time, dogs do not get sick from it, and those that do have milder symptoms than humans, and from what I have read, they do not die from it. The biggest factor in dogs exposed to salmonella is that they do pass it in their stools. So even though a dog on a raw food diet may not ever have symptoms, they can still shed the bacteria through their stools. So don't eat your dogs poop
