Well I have been cooking for mine for 3 years. they also have kibble available whenever they want it. I have always cooked lean turkey or chicken or salmon , sometimes a few chicken livers.. mixed with brown rice cooked in low sodium broth mixed with veggies like brocolli carrots sweet potatos and maybe a few peas.. They get it once a day and eat dry other then that. My vet seems to think it is just fine and both dogs are very healthy..So I have not seen any reason to do anything else.
