Default Reading an APRI registration ( my first one)

Chloe's parents are both dual registered. I just received papers today to send in to register her. But I am getting confused on how to read the APRI reg. number. I get most of it but I don't know how to read the sex's in the litter.

For example D08-YY-AB-12345D ....I know the D08 is the month and year and AB means Yorkie and the last is the reg. number and her place in the litter was 4th , correct. But does YY mean two girls were born?On the web site it says count from Z,Y and that= 2 males but then it said WXYZ = 4 females ???? what??? I do not get that part at all. How do you know if its males or females born to a litter?

I have never read an APRI reg. before before and I am a bit confused.
