The simplest guidelines are to pay attention to good behavior (down) and ignore bad behavior (jumping). Don't pet her, or let people pet her, until she sits or stays down or at least stops jumping. Ignore her. But it helps if you can teach sit, down, and even stay. Loki is really hyper too! I just do my best to wear him out, either by walking him or by playing in the house. He does his best with training when he is a little tired. A training class would definately help!! We did 6 months of obedience and he is only 10 months old. He is still hyper, but at least he listens to me!
