Hello! I'm a newbie to YT and I'm thrilled to have found it. I have learned so much already but I do have questions on Yorkie coat colors.

I know pups are born black and tan. Is there anyway to tell what color they will eventually grow in to? I had a yorkie that passed away this past June at the age of 13. She was black and tan her entire life. She never turned "lighter". I really liked that she stayed black. Is there a way to pick a pup with a tendency to stay black? All Yorkies are beautiful and I would love them no matter what. I'm just curious if there is a way to tell.

I'm currently trying to find a new furbaby and would appreciate any tips you may have on picking a good puppy. My first baby, Sunny, was gotten by chance and she was perfect to me. I knew nothing about Yorkies when I got her but instantly fell in love. Reading here, I realize there is still so, so much to learn.
