I wanted a girl for a lot of the same reasons as you - dresses, bows, etc. All that being said my Rory is a tomboy! She will wear the dresses and bows, but her most favorite thing in the world is playing ball. I have pictures of her from her 1st birthday party (Alice in Wonderland theme tea party) where she is dressed as Alice complete with a giant blue headband/bow on her head and she has a tennis ball in her mouth and is surrounded by dogs 10x her size. The other thing is, as much as I like the dresses, I find I often buy her things that are certainly unisex if not outright meant for boys.

I really like the idea of meeting all the puppies and picking based on which one you form a bond with...

I, too, think people are crazy when they ask me if Rory is a boy or a girl. A few weeks ago we were at my boyfriend's (of 5 years - only relevant b/c the family has known us a long time and certainly since when we got Rory) sister's house and Rory is running around in a Juicy tiara tee (has rhinestones all over the back if you don't know the one I mean) with a matching pink bow - his stepmom then says oh that's a cute bow, but shouldn't it be blue - WHAT?!?!?!?!?!
Rory is such a cutie pie. I love the second pic. of her in a cute dress with a ball in her mouth, just adorable
