Thank you! As the OP that is exactly why I posted it. I want everyone to remember this story and share it with new parents if appropriate. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to see your precious baby hanging from your dog's mouth!
Having said that I agree that the mother was careless and should never have had the babies on the bed like that. I also agree that the dog probably was "playing" with the new toy and probably wasn't properly prepared for the twins.
THe whole thing is just very sad and I pray that the family will be able to deal with their guilt and grief. My mother was a twin and her sister died very early. Mom always said that she felt the loss even though she has no memory of her twin. I feel so bad for the surviving baby.
