I have a 4 month old puppy and went through the same thing. I wanted a good food. She came to us on Royal Canine but I wanted her off of the corn because she was scratching.

We tried tons of the samples. Life Abundance, Wellness (didn't like some of what i read), Chicken Soup, and some others. She loved Chicken Soup but I had trouble finding a store by me that sold it.

We tried Natural balance and that failed as well. We are finally getting ehr to eat Nature's Recipe. I think a great food is a good quality that they will eat. I know some may say there are better food that NR but that is about all Krissy will eat. She already had a bad case of hypoglycemia that made her stay at vet for 4 days so I wasn't taking chances of her not eating.
