Yes, it is not as easy as some people think.
Ellie came home a few hours after her spay and I stayed up with her all night.
By the next day I was exhausted and somebody came and watched her while I took a nap. She peed in her onesie during the night and somehow got it off and I'm sure licked her incision. She tried to get to her incision through the leg holes in the onesie. I was on the computer and she was laying on the desk where I could watch her nap. She heard something and down she went. So much for no jumping. A couple of her staples came out (no big deal but had to call the vet). Then she got lots of bumps under her incision (normal), some bruising around it and it felt lke an inside stitch was poking through. That was good for two vet visits but all was perfectly fine. Because of her liver she couldn't have the pain meds normally given and I felt like she was in some pain. Then her inside stitches didn't dissolve very quickly at all. Her body didn't attack them as fast as it should've of. Good time, Good times.
