A really good quick fix is to take a small handful of salt, add some olive oil or whatever oil you have on hand and scrub away, then rinse. If you have any cuts or hangnails use sugar instead of salt.
eta: it only takes a little tiny bit of both salt and oil. If it doesn't feel scrubby enough, just add more.
