Don't worry, I had to do the same thing with my Brandi. I have a pic of her at work on my computer so Brandi has been called everything from Yoda (on Star Wars) to Dumbo the Elephant.

I woke her to take this pic. This was the same day she got her hair cut. That was back in October. She is just finally now beginning to look like a Yorkie now. I figured by the summertime, her coat will be beautiful. I give her a bath on average every two weeks. People actually thought she was a dachsund puppy with hair!

Isn't she the funniest looking Yorkie you ever seen? I can't wait until her hair grows back!
