 My puppy did this too...
Tinkerbell is 9 weeks old and has only been with us since last saturday. She was up crying/screaming every night in her crate every two hours for 4 days straight. We have close neighbors and I had one lady express to me that her 2 year old son has been waking because of the dog crying at night and what was I doing to our dog? I felt really bad. So I decided to cover her crate with a blanket so she couldn't see me and every time she would high pitch scream I would shake a can with pennies in it. I hope this doesn't sound cruel but I only had to do that 4 times one night and now there's no sound out of her from 10 at night until 6 in the morning for the last 2 days. And she actually seems to snuggle right down and go to sleep when I put her in it too when before she would scratch and scream and get totally hyper in her crate. Hope this helps.
