I believe I had read somewhere that catnip toys were okay for dogs...but I don't know about them tearing them up and possibly ingesting it.
You should use the SEARCH button at the top of the page (in the blue tool bar) and type in catnip to see if anything come up....as I am sure there was a discussion on it in the past.
