My understanding of it from nursing school (which was a few years ago) is that it technically can "flare up" By which I mean cause symptoms. These symptoms could lessen or worsen over time but that once its started "flaring up" it could burst immediately or next week or years down the road. Once the symptoms start you want to get it looked into. Ruptures are serious, hard to predict, and can be deadly. Be careful and best of luck.
