Have you ever bred dogs before? There is alot more to breeding than just putting two dogs together and "viola" puppies.
There are plenty of dogs in shelters/rescues that need homes (especially now with the economy), so there is no need to add to the dog population for the sake of having puppies in hopes that they would look/act like the parent dogs.
