Aww, I know you're frustrated from your other thread too. It sounds like your stuck inside too and you both probably have cabin fever!!
I had a very hard time potty training Ranger. It took a solid year and then one day- BAM! It was just like he "got it." He hasn't had an accident since. Now Ryder is another story, but I didn't get him until he was 14 months. He is doing well now on the pad but it has taken a lot of hard work!
I tried for weeks to get him to use the pad to no avail, then one day I was standing at the table and looked down and Ry just squatted right on his pad. I acted like he was the King of England and he just gave me a billion dollars!! He got it after that and I give him a treat now everytime he goes, which is about 80% of the time.
Oh, and The Dog Whisperer is a television show about the trainer Ceasar Milan. Maybe you can rent the series from the video store if your town has one?
About the cuddle-thing.. well Ranger is super independant and does not like to be cuddled but he has gotten drastically better since he turned a year old.
Don't be too upset!! In a few months it will be beautiful outside and you can work off all Bailey's frustration with long walks and hikes!!! |
