I have also heard that, which is why I take a fish oil capsule every day. They had me try several antidepressants, and told me I was depressed in addition to my GAD. Those meds made me feel like I wasn't a person, so I got off of them. I switched to a gluten free diet (the changes from that alone were astounding, no more brain fog), I started taking omega 3s, B complex, and Tryptophan supplements. Also, I quit smoking and drinking caffiene. I can't tell you how much better I feel. The only thing I take meds for now is an occastional Ativan for anxiety. I agree that Doctors really don't loook at your diet to see if that is causing problems.
