My Brandi knows how to get out of her crate. She knows how to unlatch it and get out. I went through the same thing you did. I put Brandi in her crate only to return home with her waiting for me at the front door. At first I thought maybe I didnt close it all the way. Well after the third time, I knew she knew how to get out. It takes her all of 5 minutes.
I watched her too. She only does this when I am not at home. If I put her in her crate at night and I hear her trying to get out I just tell her no and she stops. I was thinking of getting an expen but I also had concerns with her escaping that too. So for now I just put her in the bathroom whenever I leave. Fortunately it does have a vent. I'm at a lost too. But the bathroom does seem to be working out. I just put her potty pads (which she doesn't always use), her food, bed and blanket in there with her. I don't like her being in there but she's not fully house trained as of yet. She has way to many accidents. |
