So sorry for your loss
I was attacked by a retriever years ago...bite my arm, ripped my shirt off and bite me on the back. I had just gotton out of my car in front of this house and the little girl that lived there opened to front door to leave and the dog bounded out. I had not left the curb and was not going to that house. Before I knew it I was on the ground and the only thing that saved me from ???? is that the owner ran out and jumped in between me and the dog. I found out later that this was not the first time the dog had attacked someone. They are definitely not always the gentle dog people might think.
