We don't care about the money for Thumper. We just want him to be in a safe and loving home, but I really think he needs to be with someone that has experience dealing with special needs dogs. He scares everyone away when the come through our door. He sounds frightening. He has never bitten anyone(he did get me once but I was reaching for Tori, our 5 year old and I think he was trying to protect her) but we have not really given him the chance to bite. The lady in Maryland sounds really ideal and I am waiting to hear back from her. In the mean time we are falling in love with Thumper and dread him having to make another transition. If it wasn't for having people come in and out of our house all day long, I think he would be fine. But I am afraid maybe he will bite my 5 year old when he is actually trying to protect her and I can not take the chance. I do feel like I have failed Thumper and am going to do my best to get him placed in a forever home. Rescueing dogs is not for me and I have the highest respect for the people that do. They are heros in my book!!!
