Here's my question, does it always happen to breeders that you get a ton of calls that are shocked at the price? (We are selling them for $1500, which is pretty cheap for the type of puppy they are.) I try to explain that they are high quality puppies, raised with a family, etc, but it seems like people don't care, and just want a cheap yorkie.

I'm just setting up appointments right now, and will hopefully sell them when they are closer to 12 weeks, but I'm just so surprised at the reaction. It makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

You will always get people who want puppies for free or as close to that as possible. No matter what the price. Stick to your guns and find them good homes that can afford to take care of them. You can allow people to put deposits now and make payments until they are paid off, they can pick up when paid off. $1500 is average. I paid $1600 and was LUCKY to get that price. I used to live in AZ where you didnt see them under $1200 almost EVER, usual prices are $1800 there, Ive been looking for 5 years.

Are you selling the puppies on limited registration to make sure no one breeds them unscrupulously?
