I don't know for sure, but since the food is raw, there is a certain amount of decomposition occuring if any is left on their mouth or beard. I feed a crunchy biscuit or chew log after they eat their meal to clean their teeth. I also keep Teddee's beard trimmed so it doesnt get into his food so much. Maybe you can wipe his beard with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar so it will kill bacteria but not be toxic like soap? Its worth a try!
