yes, I would put your baby on your schedule. I do believe in the first year or so they will need to be taken out quickly ONE time at night. I go to bed at 11pm so I take my boy out when I go to bed. and I get up at 7am and let him out then. I now have him to the point that if go to the bathroom he won't get up unless its 7am. but that took me telling him to go lay back down when he was younger. Now when my boy was under the age of 1 1/2 in his potty traiing years he slept in a crate at night. this way they cannot get up and bother you and it helps with the pottying at night. Again I recommend taking him out when you go to bed and once during the night, make sure to let him know that he can't get up again until morning when you get up. It's the GO LAY DOWN firmly command..hehe..
I was so exhaused for the first year and a half but now I can sleep like a baby with no worrires.
