I agree. Go with your gut on this one. Like you said, he's your baby and if you've been worried about losing him when he goes under, then maybe he isn't meant to be neutered. It's completely up to you though.
If you do decide to neuter him, I'm sure everything will turn out ok as well. Good luck with your decision!
