Our expen is 8 panels - each 18" wide. It worked fine while Bailey was young - and in fact, I recommend it. If you double it right now - it might be too big and your baby may not learn to hold pee all day. Once your baby learns to hold it (which was 8 mos for my Bailey) - then I doubled it for her.

I know that some yorkies can jump - but Bailey has never tried that - ours is 24" tall. At first, I placed a piece of vinyl under it to save the floors (along with a pee pad in a litter box, water, rug/blanket and few toys) - now that Bailey is older - we have a piece of carpet under it for comfort.
