I did alot of research when I was looking for my own yorkie and that was common as you mentioned. Even though my niece really wants her own yorkie desperately, my brother is going to put it off until she is old enough to take care of her dog herself. My niece and nephew lost their mother a little over a year ago to breast cancer so my brother isn't making big decisions right now. So when I visit I just let her baby Bella when I am there so she gets to experience what it is like to have the responsibility of having a pet.
