yes, the road salt is dangerous for them. It's calcium chloride and is poisonous.

It also dries out their paws. Wetting their feet just activates the salt and makes it do it's job....melt snow and ice.

We've been wearing light fleece boots to protect them from the salt but if I do wash their feet, I actually use soap and water. Then I blow them dry to make sure all the salt is off.

So glad we're moving away from all this! lol
