A 5 year old dog all of a sudden being left alone for long periods
is going to feel some separation anxiety
If she is corralled in the kitchen make sure that there is Nothing that she can get a hold of
Otherwise she's going to need to be penned
Make sure she has some items that smell of your daughter
and toys that can occupy her time
