Oh Hon, I am so sorry you are going through this. I'm much older than you, but I too am going through this. We left to go out of town last Sat early morning & it was a 7 hr car ride. That evening is when I started to have cramping in lower stomach area. I knew something was wrong when it didn't go away. The next day, the pain moved to my left side, lower stomach area & lower back area. The pressure was intense. Well, the worse pain for me did wait til we were back home. Arrived home late Mon night, went to bed & around 3:00 am awoke to intense pain/pressure accompanied with nausea! The next morning I went to urologist & xrays showed 2 stones. My file also showed xrays from 2005 & the stones were much smaller then. Yes, I don't want to scare you, but sometimes they do take a long time to pass. Good news for me is that now the pressure/pain has subsided. I only had to take 1 pain med....it really knocked me out. He prescribed Flomax which really helped alot. You only take it @night & it relaxes so that you are able to pass the stone more easily. And the doctor sent me home with meds for nausea. You definitely need that. The pain med could also make you feel even worse with nausea. You do need lots & lots of liquids & try to eat a little.
I'm so sorry that your Mom is away right now. If there is anything, anything at all that I can help with any questions you might have, I'm right here. I know how scary it is. My Dad & brother have history with stones, so I was constantly asking them. HUGS to you & I hope the meds are helping to make you more comfortable. Pls keep us updated! HUGS!!
