That's how I do mine as well. I use "my own" money to buy everything from clothes to treats and such. It's helped so much just putting the money aside like I would for my car payments and insurance, etc. Makes life so much easier. I just feel ripped off if I buy insurance and never ever see it working for me. I've been lucky and never really have problems that require vet assistance, so why pay more in insurance than I do in vet bills?! lol But it's nice to have it there in case I need it. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does this! I know the person who set up my account at the bank thought I was completely insane. haha
